Electrical Hardware Design Engineer – Lanham, MD

The Electric Hardware Design Engineer will be based in Lanham, MD and will design and test advanced instruments for both commercial and government applications. The role requires hands‑on experience in analog and digital electronics, circuit harnessing, and electronic test equipment, as well as a strong background in FPGA design.

Responsibilities

• Design analog and digital circuits and associated harnessing. • Prototype, test, and debug electronic hardware using oscilloscopes and multimeters. • Generate schematic drawings, PCB layouts, specifications, and test procedures. • Provide design expertise for rugged applications and NASA space‑flight programs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional electrical engineering experience.
  • Strong experience with analog & digital circuit design, debugging, and testing.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer.
  • Experience with circuit simulation, worst‑case analysis, and electrical stress analysis.
  • VHDL‑based FPGA design experience with Xilinx or Microchip devices.
  • Hands‑on lab experience with prototyping, troubleshooting, and debugging circuit boards and subassemblies.
  • Experience with high‑speed analog and digital interfaces.
  • Design history with airborne, space‑flight, military, or rugged high‑reliability applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly motivated with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship.
What we expect from you
  • Ability to work onsite on a full‑time schedule.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Availability for 40 hours per week.
  • Residency in Lanham, MD.

Compensation

$104,000 – $130,000 per year (USD). Compensation within this range will depend on location, experience, and organizational requirements.
