Job summary

Renaissance Learning, Inc. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with FPGA design expertise to lead development of complex electronic cards for high-performance seabed hydrophone systems. The role requires strong analog, power, and digital design skills and experience with industry tools.

The candidate will architect, develop, test, and integrate hardware while coordinating with teams and customers. Travel to installation sites is expected as needed to ensure unit performance and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge in analog, power and FPGA design.
  • Level 5 requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or comparable with 9+ years experience; or a graduate degree with 7+ years experience. In lieu of a degree, 13+ years experience.
  • Level 4 requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or comparable with 6+ years experience; or graduate degree with 4+ years experience. In lieu of a degree, 10+ years experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Electrical Engineering development efforts employing EVMS as a Control Account Manager to deliver complex designs.
  • Architect, design, develop, modify, evaluate and integrate electronic circuit cards for seabed hydrophone systems.
  • Create analog and digital designs including layout using LTSpice, Cadence, Mentor Graphics and Vivado.
  • Analyze electrical requirements to determine feasibility within time and cost constraints.
  • Provide input to program bids and generate bases of estimate.
  • Qualify and test electrical hardware and systems; support customer site installations and troubleshooting; travel to sites.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads Electrical Engineering development efforts employing EVMS as a Control Account Manager to deliver complex electrical designs while meeting or exceeding program cost and schedule requirements, required for Level 5; preferred for Level 4.
  • Responsible for architecting, designing, developing, modifying, evaluating and integrating electronic circuit cards, electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for complex, high performance seabed hydrophone systems.
  • Creates Analog and Digital designs of circuit cards including layout using industry standard tools such as LTSpice, Cadence, Mentor Graphics and Vivado.
  • Analyzes electrical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Responsible for providing input to program bids and generating bases of estimate.
  • Performs qualification and test of electrical hardware and systems including the support of customer site installations and troubleshooting. Travel to customer installation sites required.
  • Able to identify component operational characteristics that may impact system performance and or sustainability.
