Job summary

The Third Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Forensic Consultant/Engineer in the Boston area to deliver expert investigative and failure analysis services across insurance, legal, industrial, and commercial sectors.

You will evaluate electrical system failures, determine root causes, draft thorough technical documentation, and provide expert testimony when required. Hybrid work with on-site and field inspections will apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
• 2–10+ years of professional engineering experience; forensic/field investigation background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform root-cause failure analyses and diagnostic evaluations of damaged electrical systems within scope and budget.
• Conduct hands-on field investigations, collect data, and document findings with photos and histories.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and CAD/CAE software for analysis and modelling.
