Job summary

A forensic engineering firm is seeking an Electrical Forensic Engineer to conduct hands-on failure analysis of electrical systems and components. The successful candidate will document findings and provide expert testimony. Candidates must have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, at least 10 years of experience, and be a Licensed Professional Engineer. Regular travel is required, along with working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Overview

Summary

This role involves investigative field work to determine the root cause of failures primarily related to electrical systems and components, followed by submitting a report of findings and testifying in support of those findings when called to do so. The Electrical Forensic Engineer will take a hands-on approach to engineering, working in the field, testing facility and office.

  • Document facts and report finalization of findings

  • Ability to apply theories and knowledge to real world situations

  • Complete assignments on time as requested by client

  • Conduct ethical practices consistently

Required Education and Experience

  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing, demonstrating safe driving habits and capable of being insured by our company policy.

  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check, as required for the position.

Position Type/Expected Hours

This is a full-time position. Some flexibility in hours is permitted, but s/he must be available during the standard work hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Physical Demands

This position is a combination of field work, travel related work, and sedentary work. An employee is regularly required to drive, stand, sit, walk, reach, type, talk, hear, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds. An employee may also be required to traverse wooded and/or uneven terrain, enter structures, use ladders, walk on roofs, enter small spaces, and work in various weather conditions.

Travel

Regular travel will be required as a part of the Forensic Engineer position. Some overnight travel may be required.
