Electrical Engineer – Forensics (Tennessee/Southeast)

Overview

Join a renowned forensic engineering firm that's expanding its Tennessee team. This opportunity is designed for a technically adept Forensic Electrical Engineer who values deep expertise, professional growth, and diverse, challenging projects.

Role Summary

In this role, you'll lead investigations into electrical system failures and equipment damage. You will conduct on-site assessments, perform root cause analyses, evaluate both electrical and mechanical systems, and craft detailed, defensible reports for legal, insurance, and industrial clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigative Leadership:

  • Direct investigations into electrical system failures.

  • Assess damaged electrical infrastructure and equipment, including solar power systems when applicable.

  • Examine corrosion, materials, and mechanical properties.

  • Analytical Reporting:

  • Conduct comprehensive root cause analysis.

  • Prepare detailed reports that can be used in legal, insurance, or industrial settings.

  • Cost Estimation:

  • Estimate the repair or replacement costs based on your findings.

  • Client & Peer Engagement:

  • Work directly with clients, attorneys, and industry peers to ensure clarity and accuracy in your work.

  • Manage multiple complex projects from initiation through completion.

  • Expert Testimony:

  • Provide deposition or expert witness testimony as needed, leveraging your investigative expertise.

Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Eectrical engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Missouri or nearby state is Required or if it can be obtained within 6 months. .
  • Experience with Solar Power Systems is a BIG Plus.
  • 3+ years of Forensic Investigation and Reporting experience is a PLUS!
  • Experience giving legal depostions & Expert Witness experience is a BIG PLUS.
  • Advanced Technical Education degrees (a plus)
  • Computer Software Capable (for example: MathCAD, AutoCAD, MS Office)
  • Industrial/Manufacturing/Design Experience
  • 30% Travel is Required.
