Envista Forensics is seeking a Project Electrical Engineer to conduct forensic investigations related to electrical incidents and failures, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and experts.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate electrical failures, defects, or damage in industrial, commercial, and residential settings.
  • Determine causes of electrical system failures and assess design, construction quality, or maintenance procedures.
  • Lead field investigations and document property damage for multi‑party examinations.
  • Collaborate on large, complex projects within multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Research failure modes and provide repair or remediation recommendations.
  • Prepare reports and letters detailing the cause of damage for clients.
  • Provide deposition and expert testimony in product liability for civil, federal, and occasional criminal court cases.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering field; a Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of employment or the ability to obtain one within 12 months.
  • Willingness to travel to clients’ sites (25–30%); ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions.
  • Familiarity with forensic investigation practices and principles is a plus.
  • Preferred: 5 years of experience evaluating electrical failures in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Power systems experience (generators, transformers, switchgear, etc.) is a plus; electro‑mechanical experience is desirable.
  • Experience working with lawyers, insurance companies, and adjusters is preferred.
