Salary: $20-$45

Role and Responsibilities

A foreman must know the job inside and out, including prints, spec book, change orders, and paperwork. They must stay organized and ensure the job is safe and OSHA compliant. Other duties may include:

  • Weekly review of the project's overall status.
  • Complete Jobsite Punchlist Checklist at the end of each phase and at project completion (form provided and stored in the job file).
  • Review Owner's needs and confirm manpower requirements.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Maintain on-site documentation such as scope of work, material requisitions, logs, safety reports, meeting minutes, purchase orders, repair tags, specifications, and punchlists.
  • Submit weekly reports and documentation to the office, including progress reports, timesheets, expenditures, and RFIs.
  • Update prints daily with revisions in red; keep a clean set for as-builts.
  • Plan initial and larger package needs, including time frames for releases and equipment.
  • Monitor and coordinate subcontractor work.
  • Evaluate project time management using tools like To Do lists.
  • Perform safety checks regularly, including wiring, panel coverage, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Review Toolbox Talks with the team weekly; ensure sign-offs.
  • Enforce PPE usage and OSHA safety practices.
  • Track release dates of project packets and manage purchase order balances.
  • Communicate with the Project Coordinator regarding shipments and manpower needs.
  • Review all timesheets for accuracy.
  • Address employee concerns, document performance, and provide feedback.
  • Build trust with GCs, owners, and other trades through effective communication and coordination.
  • Maintain good housekeeping on the job site.
  • Perform other related tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; hold a Journeyman's card (completed 4 years of apprenticeship) or equivalent experience; minimum OSHA 30 certification.

Work Environment:

Field environment involving construction or maintenance work, typically 40 hours per week plus overtime. Conditions vary from indoor to outdoor, with potential exposure to noise, contaminants, and varying lighting conditions.

Physical Demands:

Active role involving climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, handling materials, and repetitive movements.

Skills:

First Aid/CPR/AED, Arc Flash, Confined Spaces, Forklift operation, Medium/High Voltage; excellent communication, technical management, safety knowledge, proficiency in Microsoft Office, resource and time management, materials and tools knowledge.
