Electrical Foreman - Commercial
Position Summary:
The Electrical Foreman will oversee the installation, maintenance, and inspection of large electrical projects, systems, and supervise personnel including subcontractors.
Responsibilities:
- Attend and supervise work at assigned locations, including project sites and offices.
- Lead the electrical team to execute work safely and efficiently, aiming for top quality.
- Oversee site safety and quality control programs.
- Ensure compliance with safety permits and protocols.
- Coordinate between project management and site operations.
- Manage subcontractors' work related to electrical systems such as fire alarm, security, controls, testing, and rigging.
- Verify design adherence with architectural, engineering, and consulting standards.
- Coordinate trade activities and develop schedules with the project team.
- Participate in weekly coordination meetings.
- Manage equipment and material logistics.
- Support shutdowns, constructability reviews, and value engineering.
- Assess progress and manage project documentation, punch lists, and compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate with client representatives and support project close-out activities.
- Ensure availability of equipment and materials to maximize productivity.
- Supervise installation of electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, security, instrumentation, controls, UPS, and generators.
- Detect and report faulty equipment or materials.
- Guide helpers and apprentices, interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Maintain safety, quality standards, and site cleanliness.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to independently manage a team of tradespeople and apprentices.
- Minimum of 10 years of field experience in electrical or related construction.
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and tools.
- Attention to detail, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Strong documentation skills, including reports and paperwork.
- Certified in Permit Required Confined Space and OSHA 10.
- Understanding of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Must be able to perform tasks in various construction environments, including climbing ladders, working from aerial lifts, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs. Work environments include manufacturing facilities, power plants, chemical plants, healthcare, and commercial spaces.
