Electrical Foreman - Commercial

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Electrical Foreman will oversee the installation, maintenance, and inspection of large electrical projects, systems, and supervise personnel including subcontractors.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend assigned locations, including project sites and offices.
  • Lead and supervise electrical work ensuring safety and quality standards.
  • Oversee site safety and quality control programs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety permits and protocols.
  • Coordinate between project management and site operations.
  • Supervise subcontractors working on fire alarms, security, controls, testing, rigging, etc.
  • Confirm design intent with architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Coordinate trade activities and develop schedule look-aheads.
  • Participate in weekly coordination meetings.
  • Manage equipment and material deliveries and staging.
  • Support shutdowns and operational requirements.
  • Assist in constructability and value engineering analyses.
  • Review trade contractor progress and requisitions.
  • Maintain as-built documentation and drawings.
  • Establish work completion and punch lists.
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications and shop drawings.
  • Interface proactively with client representatives.
  • Complete project control documentation per company standards.
  • Support issue resolution and project close-out activities.
  • Ensure availability of equipment and materials to maximize productivity.
  • Supervise installation of systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, security, controls, UPS, and generators.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment or materials.
  • Direct helpers and apprentices.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain site housekeeping.
  • Interact courteously with co-workers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Skills & Experience/Requirements:

  • Ability to manage teams of pipe fitters, plumbers, welders, and apprentices.
  • Minimum of 10 years of field experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial construction materials, methods, and tools.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Customer satisfaction focus.
  • Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Experience with permit-required confined spaces and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Relevant state certifications and OSHA 10 certification.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

The physical demands and work environment are typical for construction roles and may include climbing ladders, working at heights, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in industrial facilities such as power plants, chemical plants, healthcare, and commercial spaces.
