Job summary

Bechtel seeks a senior Project Field Engineer to provide field engineering specialization with work planning, material management, and quality control for LNG plant projects on the US Gulf Coast. The role includes coordinating drawings, schedules, and temporary facilities, while ensuring safety and compliance.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree with 8–10 years (or 12–14 years) of relevant experience, strong communication, and a proven ability to lead teams and coordinate subcontractors

Qualifications

• Construction site experience in heavy industrial direct hire projects.
• Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes from practical experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating teams and plans.
• Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Experience with startup, operation, testing, and commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepares construction drawings and sketches.
• Leads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.
• Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
• Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
• Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
• Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
• Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities
• Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
• Reviews and approves inspection test plans
• Coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals
