Job summary

Pike Corporation seeks an Electrical Estimator to provide comprehensive construction estimates for underground and overhead distribution, transmission, and substation projects. You will visit sites, review bid documents, and prepare labor, equipment and material estimates, while managing subcontractor quotes.

You will assist budgets after award and help prepare change orders during project lifecycles, partnering with contract administration and operations to keep bids and projects on track.

Qualifications

• 3 years estimating experience.
• Post-secondary education in business administration related discipline – management, accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and summarize projects for bidding.
• Attend pre-bid job walks and site investigations.
• Prepare labor, equipment and material project estimates.
• Prepare resource driven project schedules as per client’s request.
• Assist PMs in preparing change order requests.
• Must be able to analyze and understand bid documents and construction drawings.
• Prepare takeoffs for materials, labor, equipment, and gather subcontract quotes.
• Manage subcontract submittals.
• Submit quote requests for materials.
• Possess good written and communications skills – ability to make other people understand the complex issues contained in the estimate.
