Job summary

NEXT Electric, LLC is seeking a full-time Electrical Estimator in New Berlin, Wisconsin to prepare complete cost estimates for electrical projects and manage the estimating process from proposal to closeout.

The role requires 3+ years of related experience, proficiency with Accubid/LiveCount, and strong math and communication skills. Onsite work with potential field walk-throughs and collaboration with customers and project managers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ related experience or equivalent education, technical training and experience.
• Accubid/LiveCount and/or Construction Environment experience preferred.
• Proficient PC and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) skills.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
• Customer oriented with ability to meet customers’ needs while following procedures.
• Time management to meet deadlines.
• Background checks and drug testing as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete cost estimates for all types of electrical projects.
• Monitor program of work to ensure estimates are completed prior to deadlines.
• Schedule/attend field walk-through with customer, subcontractor and construction personnel.
• Compare project documents for accuracy and consistency.
• Participate in estimate review with internal and external stakeholders.
• Follow-up at end of projects to close loops in estimating process.
• Prepare work to be estimated: gather proposals, drawings, specs and related documents.
• Consult with customers and project managers to gather information to prepare estimates.
• Obtain bids from vendors and components to ensure accuracy.
• Attend job site walkthroughs as necessary.
• Prepare project construction schedules.
• Submit RFI to clients.
• Review and monitor job costs versus budgets.
• Develop understanding of client culture and processes.
• Assist in tracking basis of cost estimate and submission of change orders.
