Job summary

IBidElectric LLC in San Francisco, CA seeks an Electrical Estimator to analyze drawings, specs, bid requirements, and vendor quotations to prepare complete cost estimates. The role develops labor, material, equipment, and subcontract pricing and coordinates with stakeholders throughout bidding.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of electrical estimating experience, understands takeoffs and estimating methods, and can manage multiple estimates with accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical estimating, electrical engineering, or closely related electrical construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical construction cost estimates from project plans, specifications, drawings, and bid documents.
• Prepare labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, vendor, and other project cost components.
• Complete detailed electrical quantity takeoffs using estimating software and electronic construction documents.
• Review bid specifications, drawings, addenda, scope requirements, and subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Prepare and submit complete bid proposals while meeting project requirements and proposal deadlines.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, purchasing, field operations, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to improve estimate accuracy.
• Prepare estimate summaries and supporting documentation identifying costs, assumptions, exclusions, qualifications, and pricing rationale.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, scope reviews, and project site visits when required.
• Identify scope gaps, project risks, constructability concerns, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain current knowledge of electrical material pricing, labor requirements, estimating methods, and market conditions.
• Manage multiple estimates and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.
