Job summary

BE&K Building Group is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our Raleigh-based team. The role entails analyzing blueprints, calculating material and labor costs, and preparing competitive bids for commercial construction projects.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant degree, proven estimating experience, and strong knowledge of electrical codes. Collaboration with PMs, engineers, and clients is essential for accurate scope understanding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the commercial construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine electrical requirements.
• Estimate the cost of materials, labor, and equipment needed for electrical installations.
• Prepare and submit detailed and accurate project bids.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements.
• Maintain and update cost databases to reflect current market prices for materials and labor.
• Evaluate potential profitability of projects and provide recommendations to management.
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures and solutions to increase project profitability.
• Ensure all estimates comply with relevant electrical codes and standards.
• Communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing information.
• Monitor and report on project progress and cost performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating the costs of electrical installations for various commercial construction projects.
