Job summary

gobravvo is seeking an Electrical Estimator to support bidding and preconstruction for commercial, industrial, and public works projects in California. The role requires reviewing drawings and specs to develop detailed cost breakdowns and coordinating with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors onsite.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, knowledge of electrical systems, and experience with public works.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates from drawings and specs.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate all project costs (materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors).
• Research current material pricing, labor costs, and market conditions to ensure competitive estimates.
• Review bid packages, identify scope gaps, and evaluate subcontractor proposals for completeness and compliance.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field teams during preconstruction and handoff.
• Assess technical drawings and installation requirements for electrical/public works projects to identify cost drivers.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and bid files, and contribute to cost-tracking improvements.
• Collaborate with field and office personnel on sequencing, schedule impacts, and value engineering.
