Job summary

Ampam-Parks-Mechanical is seeking an Electrical Estimator in El Cajon, CA to prepare cost estimates for multi-family residential projects. You will analyze drawings, specs, and related docs to determine material, labor, and time requirements, and collaborate with PMs, engineers, subs, and clients to ensure competitive bids.

Responsibilities include take-offs, bid proposals, supplier evaluations, and VE options with project teams, maintaining pricing databases for future work.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in electrical/construction estimating, preferably with multi-family new construction projects.
• Knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret electrical plans, specifications, and addenda for multi-family residential projects.
• Prepare detailed take-offs of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage, and other related systems.
• Develop complete and accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and overhead.
• Create and manage bid proposals and ensure timely submission to general contractors or clients.
• Evaluate and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and scope coverage.
• Work closely with project management and engineering teams to develop value engineering options and alternative design solutions.
• Maintain an organized database of historical cost information and vendor pricing for future estimates.
