Qualifications

• Experience in electrical estimating or related field with limited supervision.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, risers, schedules, specs and addenda.
• Proficiency with Accubid and Bluebeam; maintain digital estimate files and use spreadsheets/databases.
• Apply labor units, material pricing, vendor quotes, productivity factors for defensible estimates.
• Clear written and verbal communication; document assumptions and explain basis to stakeholders.
• Attention to detail, prioritization, and ownership of estimates through bid handoff.
• Identify risks, evaluate alternatives, elevate major issues as needed.
• Support and direction to less experienced estimators; collaborate with preconstruction and field teams.
• Valid driver’s license; occasional site visits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage estimates for commercial, industrial, and electrical service projects from bid documents to submission.
• Perform digital takeoffs using Bluebeam, Accubid, and other approved tools.
• Develop labor and material estimates using databases, assemblies, and historical costs.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify requirements, exclusions, conflicts, and impacts.
• Develop estimate narratives, bid clarifications, and coordinate prebid RFIs.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor/subcontractor quotations; verify quotes align with scope.
• Analyze project requirements and site conditions affecting labor and cost.
• Identify risks and opportunities; communicate with preconstruction/PMs.
• Maintain organized estimate files, pricing backups, and bid revisions.
• Review completeness and ensure deadlines are met.
