Job summary

AMPAM Parks Mechanical, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for multi-family new construction, analyzing drawings, specifications, and related documents.

You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure bids are thorough, cost‑effective, and aligned with company standards and project goals, while maintaining timely submissions.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred but not required with experience).
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in electrical/construction estimating, preferably with multi-family new construction projects.
• Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) and local electrical codes.
• Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, McCormick, ConEst, or equivalent).
• Competent with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret electrical plans, specifications, and addenda for multi-family residential projects.
• Prepare detailed take-offs of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage, and other related systems.
• Develop complete and accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and overhead.
• Create and manage bid proposals and ensure timely submission to general contractors or clients.
• Evaluate and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and scope coverage.
• Work closely with project management and engineering teams to develop value engineering options and alternative design solutions.
