Job summary

CEC is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team on negotiated projects, collaborating with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors to develop accurate cost estimates from schematic or feasibility documents.

You will prepare updates as designs evolve, write clear bid packages, and participate in value engineering and RFP responses. A 3+ year track record and a bachelor's degree are preferred; drivers license and reliable transportation required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; related experience acceptable.
• 3+ years experience as Commercial Construction Estimator, preferably within CEC's Core Market projects.
• Must have a current Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Experience preparing conceptual cost estimates from schematic/feasibility docs.
• Experience writing and negotiating subcontracts.
• Ability to present cost/budget information to customers/owners.
• Willingness to participate in Value Engineering sessions.
• Experience with RFP responses and project presentations.
• Ability to develop business with new and existing customers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed conceptual cost estimates and studies from schematic/feasibility docs.
• Prepare detailed estimate updates as design evolves, including variance summaries.
• Understand unit costs and factors affecting construction cost.
• Prepare bid packages with clarifications for bidders.
• Understand and negotiate electrical and/or mechanical work.
• Write and negotiate subcontracts.
• Lead cost/budget presentations to Customer/Owner.
• Participate in Value Engineering sessions with the project and design teams.
• Contribute to RFP responses and formal project presentations.
• Develop business with new and existing Customers.
