Job summary

Hatzel & Buehler Inc is seeking an experienced Estimator to manage the electrical estimating process from initial takeoffs to tender submission. You will calculate material and labor costs, prepare bid documentation, and analyze quotes to deliver accurate, competitive estimates.

Collaborating with Branch Managers, subcontractors, engineers, and development managers, you will ensure cost-effective decisions and timely handoffs to project teams upon award.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years experience in electrical estimating
• Proficiency with Accubid and online bid portals
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Electrical Engineering preferred

Responsibilities

• Produce precise estimates of material and labor costs for the electrical elements of projects.
• Prepare and send out accurate electrical estimates and tender documentation.
• Analyze all received quotes for electrical materials and labor costs, utilizing negotiation skills to achieve optimal value.
• Evaluate technical requirements and estimating costs to determine prices and margins for electrical equipment.
• Create and deliver estimates/quotations to potential customers, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business requirements.
• Work closely with Branch Manager, Subcontractors, Engineers, and Development Managers during the estimating/tender process to build strong relationships.
• Utilize estimating software such as Accubid and online bid portals for final submissions.
• Review quotes and estimates with Branch Manager and Pre-Construction Manager, preparing recommendations for project risks.
