Job summary

New River Electrical is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing team. You will review contract documents, perform detailed takeoffs, and develop comprehensive electrical project estimates to support bidding and execution.

Reporting to the Estimator Supervisor, you will coordinate with customers, vendors and internal teams, manage bid timelines, and contribute to risk assessment and accurate proposals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical and/or civil estimating experience in an industrial environment.
• Familiar with materials and equipment take-off process.
• Ability to perform conceptual estimates from specifications.
• Strong mathematical, communication and computer skills.
• Proficient in MS Office; Excel skills desirable.
• Ability to prepare professional proposals and bid documentation.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specs to confirm complete scope.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to understand requirements.
• Identify risk issues and quantify their magnitude.
• Solicit subcontractor and supplier pricing.
• Prepare detailed takeoffs of labor, materials and equipment.
• Create and transmit bid proposals and supporting docs.
• Support project managers during pre-construction phase.
• Assist senior estimators on large projects.
• Manage bid information flow among customers, contractors, vendors, and operations.
• Develop project schedules to define workflow and deadlines.
• Meet estimating deadlines and work independently.
