Job summary

Miller Electric Company is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our team in Savannah. You will develop cost estimates from take‑off to bid hand‑off, using ConEst Estimating Software and blueprints to produce accurate material and labor forecasts.

Ideal candidates bring strong math and communication skills, with experience reading specs/NEC codes and preparing change-order estimates. You will collaborate with engineers, vendors, and project managers to win bids and manage scope changes.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years with a High School Diploma; 4–6 years with an Associate degree; 0–2 years with a Bachelor's degree.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, ConEst, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of NEC and Low Voltage Systems; ability to read specs/blueprints.
• Ability to discuss project scope with customers and manage change orders.
• Capable of estimating large and small projects and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost estimates from take-off through bid hand-off.
• Utilize ConEst Estimating Software for quantity takeoffs and pricing.
• Prepare estimates for change orders and alter design scope as needed.
• Analyze material and labor requirements to complete a project.
• Attend pre-bid and scope review meetings with engineers and clients.
• Read and understand blueprints; perform on-screen takeoffs and markups.
• Contact vendors for pricing and assess equipment lease costs.
• Maintain organized change-order submissions with the project team.
