Lead Electrical Estimator - Data Center
The Lead Estimator reports directly to the Senior Preconstruction Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Develop cost estimates from take-off to bid hand-off, including change orders.
- Analyze material and labor requirements.
- Attend pre-bid and scope review meetings.
- Compute and submit bids.
- Read and understand blueprints thoroughly.
- Meet with engineers, customers, vendors, and project managers.
- Inspect project locations to determine labor and materials needed.
- Contact vendors for pricing and assess equipment leasing costs.
- Maintain change order documentation in an organized manner.
- Coordinate and organize estimators as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of NEC and Low Voltage Systems.
- Ability to read specifications and blueprints.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Risk analysis capabilities.
- Experience estimating projects of various sizes.
- Calm under deadlines and pressure.
- Excellent math and computer skills, especially in Microsoft or Google Suite.
Education Requirements:
- 8-10 years experience with a High School Diploma, or
- 6-8 years with an Associate degree, or
- 2-4 years with a Bachelor's degree.
Preferred but not required:
- Familiarity with Estimating Software like Accubid or ConEst.
- Experience with on-site, mission-critical projects.
- Hands-on construction experience.
Abilities:
- Prolonged computer use and sitting.
- Reach, finger dexterity, listening, speaking, reading, and applying rules.
