Job summary

Kilgore Industries, LP in Austin, TX is seeking an Electrical Estimator to prepare bid proposals for commercial, industrial, and multi-family projects. You will review documents, perform takeoffs, and develop accurate, profitable bids while coordinating with project teams.

The role requires extensive estimating experience, proficiency with Trimble Accubid and Livecount, and strong customer service. Regular office hours are Monday–Friday, with opportunities to contribute across multiple project

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
College degree or active Texas Electrical License (Master’s or Journeyman).
Minimum 10 years of experience in the commercial or industrial construction industry.
Minimum 10 years of field or electrical estimating experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience operating Trimble Accubid and Livecount.
Great customer service skills and neat appearance.
Works well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Establishes estimating tables prior to performing takeoff.
Calculates the cost of electrical construction based on reviewing and evaluating available documents.
Analyzes project for value engineering options while considering specific job conditions that may affect labor and materials to be purchased and installed.
Manages multiple individual projects from concept through the bidding, design and subcontract bidding phases.
Works in high pressure situations such as bid day and represents Kilgore in periodic owner/design team meetings.
Analyzes and measures “risk” between subcontractors.
Analyzes and determines approach for various project delivery types.
Orders, reviews and distributes bid documents to ensure consistency and eliminate errors.
Works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents regarding schedule and special construction considerations.
Supports all phases of design, from conceptual studies through detailed construction drawings, documentation and schedules.
Requests material and equipment quotes from vendors while maintaining a positive relationship.
May perform job walks to ensure field conditions have been observed that may affect the construction, the prospective bid, and/or may impact the pre-construction designs and the electrical services.
Adheres to Kilgore’s policies, procedures, all safety plans, and all standards imposed by regulatory organizations.
Reports to the office Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:30pm.
