Job description

Job Summary

Industrial Power Solutions is seeking a qualified and highly motivated Jr. Electrical Estimator to support the estimating team in preparing timely and accurate project bids. This role is ideal for an individual with a foundational background in electrical systems or construction who is looking to grow within estimating. The Jr. Estimator will assist in takeoffs, pricing, vendor coordination, and proposal development while contributing to high quality bid submissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the estimating team, project managers, vendors, and clients.
  • Produce high quality work accurately and efficiently while meeting deadlines.
  • Provide feedback to ensure all necessary information, documents, and resources are available for estimating efforts.
  • Look for opportunities to improve estimating accuracy, workflows, and processes.
  • Assist with job setup and estimate organization.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and support detailed cost analysis.
  • Solicit and manage vendor and subcontractor quotes (RFQs).
  • Assist in finalizing estimates and compiling bid packages.
  • Support writing proposals, scopes of work, and bid documentation.
  • Participate in pre-construction coordination and kickoff meetings.
  • Independently estimate small to medium sized scopes with minimal supervision.
Minimum Job Requirements
  • High school diploma required.
  • Vocational or technical training in electrical or construction required.
  • 1 to 5 years of estimating, controls, engineering, or related experience.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and construction methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Work may involve extended periods at a desk using a computer and estimating software.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and move throughout the office as needed.
  • Occasional jobsite visits may be required.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting job sites is required.
