Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of electrical estimating experience within industrial electrical construction.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical estimating efforts from initial project review through final proposal submission.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor estimates.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop comprehensive bid packages.
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Identify project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost‑saving strategies.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations, Engineering, and leadership throughout the preconstruction process.
• Prepare scopes of work, clarifications, proposals, and supporting bid documentation.
• Support project turnover and handoff following contract award.
• Manage multiple estimates while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will play a key role in leading estimating efforts from project pursuit through final proposal submission. You will collaborate closely with Project Managers, Operations, Engineering, and leadership teams to develop accurate cost estimates, identify project opportunities, and support the continued growth of IPS.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead electrical estimating efforts from initial project review through final proposal submission.

• Mentor and support junior estimators while helping improve estimating processes.
• Share knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry best practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating department.
• Minimum 5 years of electrical estimating experience within industrial electrical construction.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and estimating principles.
• Experience estimating industrial facilities, water/wastewater, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High school diploma required; technical or vocational training in electrical construction preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience mentoring junior estimators or supporting estimating process improvements.
• Experience with large‑scale industrial electrical projects.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in an office environment with extended computer use.
• Ability to review construction documents and technical drawings for extended periods.
• Occasional visits to active construction sites may be required.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment when visiting job sites.
