Job summary

Adams Electric Company is seeking dynamic Estimators in Preconstruction to join our team of estimators and engineers. You will develop competitive proposals and estimates for exciting projects making an imprint on the community for future generations.

Responsibilities include full-cycle estimating, analyzing drawings and specs, and providing detailed takeoffs. You will lead Junior Estimators, participate in design-assist stages, and occasionally visit jobsites to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing drawings and specs to develop estimates.
• Ability to read plans/specs for multiple disciplines.
• Proficiency with estimating software and schedules is a plus.
• Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Engineering preferred; 5+ years electrical experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Own full cycle of estimating and analysis with Sr. Estimator support.
• Analyze drawings and specs to extract required information.
• Develop cost estimates by obtaining pricing from vendors/sub-contractors.
• Provide quantity takeoffs and unit costs for review by Senior Chief Estimator/VP.
• Train and lead Junior Estimators and provide hands-on leadership.
• Participate in design-assist project stages.
• Meet deadlines and maintain accurate information.
• Periodically visit jobsites.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the full cycle of estimating and analysis, with support and oversight from Sr. Estimator
• Conduct analysis of drawings and specifications to ensure required information is provided
• Develop cost estimate by soliciting specific pricing from vendors and/or sub-contractors
• Provide detailed quantity takeoffs and unit prices for review with Senior Chief Estimator and/or Vice President of Preconstruction
• Train and lead Junior Estimators in their growth and learning, including leadership and hands‑on experience
• Participate in design‑assist project stages
• Must meet critical deadlines and provide accurate information
• Periodically visits jobsites

Required Skills –

• 2+ years Electrical Construction Estimation experience
• Ability to read plans/specs for select disciplines.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, BluBeam, Accubid, AutoCAD, PowerPoint; estimating and scheduling software a plus.
• Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Engineering preferred (5+ years’ experience in electrical construction also be considered in lieu of a degree)
