Qualifications

• 2+ years Electrical Construction Estimation experience
• Ability to read plans/specs for select disciplines
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Bluebeam, Accubid, AutoCAD, PowerPoint; estimating and scheduling software a plus
• BS/BA in Construction Management or Engineering preferred; 5+ years in electrical construction may substitute for degree

Responsibilities

• Own full cycle of estimating and analysis, with support from Sr. Estimator
• Analyze drawings and specifications to extract required information
• Develop cost estimates by soliciting pricing from vendors/sub-contractors
• Provide detailed quantity takeoffs and unit prices for review
• Train and lead Junior Estimators
• Meet critical deadlines and maintain accuracy
• Periodically visit jobsites

Adams Electric Company is seeking dynamic and talented Estimators interested in a career in Preconstruction. Join our outstanding team of skilled estimators and engineers to develop competitive proposals and estimates for exciting projects making an imprint on the community for future generations.

Bring innovative ideas to the table as you work with our team of Estimators and Sr. Estimators. Analyze project plans, produce quantity take-offs, create winning strategies and gain an overall understanding of complex projects in order to develop accurate and competitive project cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the full cycle of estimating and analysis, with support and oversight from Sr. Estimator
• Conduct analysis of drawings and specifications to ensure required information is provided
• Develop cost estimate by soliciting specific pricing from vendors and/or sub-contractors
• Provide detailed quantity takeoffs and unit prices for review with Senior Chief Estimator and/or Vice President of Preconstruction
• Train and lead Junior Estimators in their growth and learning, including leadership and hands-on experience
• Must meet critical deadlines and provide accurate information
• Periodically visits jobsites

Skills & Abilities

• Computer proficient with ability to adapt to new innovations and processes
• Experience in Electrical Construction Industry
• Capable of understanding construction documents including drawings, standards, and specifications
• Strong written, communication and problem-solving skills
• Potential management and leadership skills
• Functions effectively as part of a team
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to always maintain discretion and confidentiality
• Positive attitude is a must
• Effective and professional communication skills to clients and within the Preconstruction team

Required Skills –

• 2+ years Electrical Construction Estimation experience
• Ability to read plans/specs for select disciplines.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, BluBeam, Accubid, AutoCAD, PowerPoint; estimating and scheduling software a plus.
• Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Engineering preferred (5+ years’ experience in electrical construction also be considered in lieu of a degree)
