Job summary

Adams Electric Company offers a PAID Summer Internship Program in North Carolina. You will assist the Estimation team, learn estimation software, read bid documents, and help prepare budgets and proposals. Ideal candidates are pursuing Construction Management or related majors with analytical thinking and teamwork skills.

Mentorship and real project exposure are provided. This internship emphasizes a hands-on experience with multiple projects and a mentor to grow your career in the construction

Qualifications

• College Junior or Senior preferred.
• Construction Management, Mathematics, or related major preferred.
• Analytical thinking and design.
• Ability to adapt in stressful/demanding situations.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of BlueBeam, Revit, and/or other construction software.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Estimator and Estimation team to ensure accurate and complete proposals for bidding potential projects.
• Learn capability of Estimation Software in order to prepare bid for client.
• Thoroughly read and analyze bid documents for all details including scope, general conditions, alternates, allowances, bonds, taxes, etc.
• Support Estimation Team by counting lighting fixtures and evaluate the project drawings.
• Maintain Request for Information (RFI) logs.
• Study, understand and analyze specifications for types of materials, project duration, conditions, working hours, etc.
• Solicit and obtain accurate and multiple subcontractor quotes.
• Learn about Labor Quotes and man hours required for project size and cope from the Estimation Team/VP of Operations.
• Assist in creating a detailed take-off for Plan Spec and Design-Build/Design-Assist projects.
• Help Prepare a Detailed Budget/Estimate, bid summaries and Proposal Letter including scope of project

Adams Electric Company's Summer Internship Program is a PAID, challenging, dynamic, fun and educational experience.
