Job summary

Smyth Industries, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician intern to support design, drafting, and project coordination for water infrastructure projects in Arizona.

The role involves learning engineering software, assisting in planning, and helping prepare drawings under supervision. The ideal candidate will be enrolled in an ABET-accredited program, possess strong communication skills, and be prepared to work with multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Intern must be enrolled in ABET accredited engineering program with the goal of obtaining a bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, or related field.
• Completed at least one year of coursework in engineering.
• Solid organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact with multi-disciplined team members.
• Experience in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PDF, Teams).
• Valid driver's license, pass MVR and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist design software learning for civil, mechanical, or electrical water infrastructure.
• Support planning, studies, analysis, design, and construction of water/wastewater systems.
• Prepare basic drawings under supervision.
• Collaborate with PMs, Engineers, and Senior Designers to deliver projects.
• Organize project data and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with subconsultants, vendors, and suppliers.
