Job summary

Smyth Industries, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Designer in Arizona to support the water and reclamation projects.

The role involves designing EI&C systems, drafting detailed 2D/3D drawings, and coordinating with project teams to deliver high-quality electrical solutions for water infrastructure. The position emphasizes collaboration across engineering, manufacturing and field teams, with a focus on accurate CAD work and adherence to standards in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of CAD design and drafting experience supporting engineering projects.
• Associate degree or CAD certificate, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects varying in size and complexity.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed 2D/3D EI&C designs for water infrastructure power distribution, wiring, raceways, control systems, instrumentation, and other EI&C components.
• Demonstrate proficiency with 2D/3D EI&C drawings and details.
• Provide design support across multiple projects simultaneously.
• Maintain CAD drafting standards and project documentation.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers and Senior Designers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
