Job summary

Treetown Tech is seeking an on-site, experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to join our hands-on hardware team. You will build, test, and wire real hardware, collaborating with mechanical, electrical, software, and battery engineers on projects from prototyping to production.

In this role you’ll perform PCB assembly, wiring harness work, and electrical testing while upholding safety, quality, and organized workflow. Prior shop or manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform PCB assembly including surface-mount and through-hole soldering; use solder pencils, hot-air reflow, and reflow ovens.
• Handle general and rework soldering across assembly runs and time-critical changes.
• Build wiring harnesses and wire for AC/DC circuits; read schematics and eCAD to print.
• Read schematics and diagrams; collaborate with the designer or engineer on the project.
• Support electrical test activities: charge/discharge testing and end-of-line testing.
• Collect and record test data accurately and diligently; follow internal QC docs.
• Keep work area organized and follow safety and quality standards.
• PLC cabinet wiring and related tasks (bonus capability).

About the Opportunity

Treetown Tech is looking for an on-site, experienced, full-time Electrical Engineering Technician. This is a hands‑on role for someone who is experienced in building real hardware alongside diverse engineering teams.

What You'll Do

• Perform PCB assembly including surface‑mount and through‑hole soldering, using solder pencils, hot‑air reflow, and reflow ovens.
• Handle general and rework soldering across a mix of straightforward assembly runs and more detailed, time‑critical rework or design changes.

Wiring & Harness Building

• Build wiring harnesses and wire for AC and DC circuits, including industrial automation wiring, wire end termination/crimping, and connector assembly.
• Read schematics, wiring diagrams, and eCAD to build to print, working collaboratively with the designer or engineer on the project.

Electrical Testing

• Support electrical test activities such as charge/discharge testing and end‑of‑line test.
• Collect and record test data accurately and diligently.
• Follow and complete internal quality control documentation.

Quality & Safety

• Keep your work area organized and follow safety protocols and quality standards on every task.
• Flag issues or quality concerns as they come up rather than working around them.

PLC Cabinet Wiring (bonus capability – not required)

• PLC cabinet wiring and fluency with wiring diagram/schematic conventions used in cabinet builds.
• Fabrication and assembly of PLC cabinets.
• PLC cabinet testing and quality control.

• Soldering/rework certification (IPC or similar).
• Prior troubleshooting experience on machine or PLC electrical systems.
• Experience with small‑scale line manufacturing.
• Experience with parts ordering and inventory.
• Experience coordinating directly with external vendors.
