Job description

Texwrap is excited to welcome an Electrical Assembly Technician to our manufacturing team. In this role, you will design, build, and troubleshoot electrical control panels and field wiring for automated packaging line equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics, including low‑voltage PLC inputs/outputs and high‑voltage systems, and apply safe electrical practices.
  • Create electrical control panels by understanding engineering drawings, dimensions, and safety requirements; work with AC motors, motor starters, disconnects, and PLC I/O wiring.
  • Terminate all low‑ and high‑voltage wires from panels to the main panel(s) or junction boxes.
  • Install field wiring, mounting sensors (proximity, photo‑eye, laser‑through‑beam, Reed switches), industrial cameras, barcode readers, light towers, and safety circuits.
  • Troubleshoot systems using testing instruments to locate and repair electrical problems.
  • Redline electrical prints, document mistakes, and communicate corrections to engineering.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by management.
  • Assist in mechanical assembly as needed.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Strong understanding of safe electrical practices, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Read and interpret complete Electrical Engineering Drawing sets (both high and low voltage, PLC I/O, Ethernet, safety circuits).
  • Understand and use bill of materials (BOMs).
  • Strong ownership mindset; work to project completion.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to take direction.
  • Team‑player mentality.
  • Define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Operate a calculator and computer.
  • Use basic hand tools (cordless drill, pneumatic tools, socket wrenches, open‑end and box‑end wrenches, screwdrivers).
  • Potential lifting of parts and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
