Henderson Engineers is seeking an Engineering Manager in Kansas City, MO. The role combines technical leadership with people management, guiding a team of engineers and designers across multiple disciplines.

You’ll mentor staff, coordinate project delivery, and ensure design excellence through collaboration with clients and internal stakeholders. The position emphasizes strategic resource planning, performance feedback, and continuous improvement, while maintaining strong client relationships

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
• Professional Engineering license preferred.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience required.
• Experience with Revit and Bluebeam Revu preferred for design tasks.

Responsibilities

• Leads a discipline-aligned team of engineers and designers to deliver projects with high performance and collaboration.
• Acts as hiring manager and mentor, conducting interviews and providing career guidance.
• Manages project staffing, schedules, scope, and budget to meet objectives.
• Provides ongoing coaching and feedback to team members for skill development and progress.
• Collaborates with sector leaders to align goals, standards, and process improvements.
• Communicates with clients to gather requirements, manage expectations and ensure satisfaction.
• Oversees design quality and coordination across disciplines; ensures compliance with codes and standards.
