Job summary

Raytheon in McKinney, TX is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the Subsystem Integration and Test team within the MPD department. You will guide a group of engineers, oversee design and test of digital electronics, and coordinate with ECAD, labs, and customers. U.S.

citizenship and DoD clearance requirements apply. You will drive staffing, set priorities, and mentor teams while ensuring program schedules and budgets are met.

Electrical Engineering Manager – Subsystem Integration & Test Lead

Location: 2501 W University Dr, McKinney, TX (Wing M Building).

Eligibility and Security Clearance: U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and active clearance required after day 1.

Job Overview

The Multi-Product Power & Digital (MPD) department at Raytheon designs and tests FPGAs, circuit cards, and electronics subassemblies for missiles, radars, and electronic warfare systems. We’re seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead the Subsystem Integration and Test section, serving as both functional manager and senior engineer for a radar product line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a section of 15–20 engineers, providing career guidance, performance feedback, and technical mentorship.
  • Manage performance discussions, labor charging accuracy, and support program staffing and hiring.
  • Drive results through strong work ethic, active listening, empathy, and conflict resolution.
  • Develop training curricula and lead functional and cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Support program staffing needs with program leadership, including hiring and compensation planning.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert in digital electronics and CCA design.
Radar Program Responsibilities
  • Lead design, analysis, test, and documentation of digital electronics circuit card assemblies (embedded processors, FPGAs, memories, PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART).
  • Partner with ECAD drafters on stackup definition, simulation, layout, and routing.
  • Plan and execute integration and verification activities in engineering labs.
  • Provide product test and troubleshoot support, root‑cause failure investigations.
  • Drive execution against budget and schedule; identify and manage project risks.
  • Coach, review, delegate work to junior engineers; lead medium sized teams to success.
  • Lead internal and external technical reviews and support customer interactions.
  • Interface with factory on build and testing of sub‑assemblies; assist sustainment team.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Minimum of 8 years of STEM experience, with a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Experience with CCA design and test, hardware and software test equipment, project management (earned value or Agile).
Qualifications We Value
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field.
  • Experience serving as Hardware Architect, Control Account Manager, Cross Product Team Lead, or Integrated Product Team Lead.
  • Proficiency in circuit card stack level design; handling high‑speed protocols (PCIe, Ethernet, memory interfaces).
  • Expertise with Siemens Xpedition, cDX Designer, xPCB Layout, Hyperlynx, and CES routing.
  • Experience with FPGA code development and system‑level power architecture trades.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present technical documents.
  • Mentorship of junior engineers and management of technical, cost and schedule risks.
  • Experience with earned value and Agile execution tools, program transition to production, and intellectual property generation.
