Job summary

Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Power & Analog Design Engineer I in McKinney, TX for an onsite role. You will collaborate with engineering teams to design, simulate, and verify analog and power converter circuitry for missiles/effectors and sensors, contributing across the product lifecycle.

You should have a STEM degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience and experience with buck/boost converter topologies, analog electronics, and MATLAB or similar tools.

Qualifications

  • Degree in STEM and less than 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with non-isolated buck/boost/topologies.
  • Experience with analog electronics including FETs, op-amps, filters, termination and comparators.
  • Experience with MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica or similar tools.
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM major (preferred).
  • Design considerations for voltages > 400 V and/or power > 10 kW (preferred).
  • Three-phase power, power factor control, and inverter/rectifier development (preferred).
  • Military specifications knowledge (preferred).
  • ECAD tools: SIMPLIS/SABER (preferred).
  • ECAD/PCB layout guidance and technical drawing experience (preferred).
  • Lab equipment experience: power supplies, loads, multimeters, scopes (preferred).
  • Ability to lead design efforts and/or small teams (preferred).

Responsibilities

The Multi-Product Power & Digital (MPD) department designs FPGAs, circuit cards, and electronics subassemblies for a range of products including missiles/effectors, radars, and electronic warfare systems. The team leverages digital, analog, and power design skills to provide support throughout the product lifecycle from architecture and design through production and sustainment.

Power & Analog Design Engineer I

This position is an onsite role located in McKinney, TX. We are looking for candidates who are eager to collaborate, innovate, and work alongside our talented engineering teams. In this role, you will leverage advanced technologies to create cutting‑edge solutions for sensor and effector products. You will partner with experienced multidisciplinary teams to define requirements, develop architectures, execute detailed design and simulations, and perform integration and verification tasks. You will document your designs within the appropriate configuration management tools and provide comprehensive engineering support throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with architecture development at the circuit card level.
  • Design, analyze, test and document analog and power conversion circuitry.
  • Partner with senior engineers and ECAD drafters through stack‑up definition, layout and routing activities.
  • Support integration and verification activities in engineering laboratories.
  • Provide product test and troubleshooting support.
  • Understand and report execution status to the planned budget and schedule.
  • Engage in professional growth and development.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Design, analysis, simulation and/or test experience with one or more of the following non‑isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck‑boost.
  • Design, analysis, simulation and/or test experience with analog electronics design, including at least one of the following: FETs/BJTs, op‑amp, high/low/band pass filters, clock/data termination, and comparator circuits.
  • Experience using tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica or other similar tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One or more advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM major. A suitable degree may be counted as 2 years of work experience.
  • Design considerations for voltages > 400V and/or power > 10kW.
  • Three‑phase power systems, power factor control and inverter/rectifier development.
  • Military specifications.
  • Circuit simulator SIMPLIS and/or system simulator SABER.
  • Siemens Xpedition: xDX Designer, xPCB Layout and/or Hyperlynx.
  • Experience guiding Electronic Computer‑Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation.
  • Experience communicating and documenting technical topics.
  • Experience with lab equipment such as power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters, signal sources, oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead design efforts and/or small teams.

Salary

The salary range for this role is $57,200 – $108,800 USD.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
