Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to support our Indiana Harbor facility in East Chicago, IN. This leadership role will drive electrical reliability, equipment performance, and continuous improvement initiatives across a complex industrial environment.

The successful candidate will provide technical expertise, lead capital and maintenance projects, mentor maintenance personnel, and partner with operations to maximize safety, reliability, and production.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
5+ years of electrical engineering experience in manufacturing.
Strong troubleshooting, project management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical reliability and continuous improvement efforts across manufacturing operations.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical, controls, and automation issues.
Manage and execute maintenance and capital projects, including scope, budget, schedule, and implementation.
Perform root cause analysis and develop long-term solutions to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to support production goals.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to maintenance personnel and contractors.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Support outage planning, equipment upgrades, and commissioning activities.
Provide technical support for a 24/7 manufacturing operation as needed.
