Job summary

CDM Smith's Phoenix office is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You will work with a dynamic team on public, federal, and industrial projects under supervision.

You'll develop electrical drawings (power, controls, communications, fire alarm, security) using CADD, perform electrical calculations, and assist with distribution design and shop drawings. Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, with interest in power systems.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology or related discipline with an interest in power systems and/or electrical distribution.

Responsibilities

• Develop drawings for electrical systems (power, controls, communications, fire alarm, and security) using CADD.
• Perform electrical calculations using systems analyses software (lighting, load, voltage drop, etc.).
• Assist in the development of electrical distribution design plans and single line diagrams.
• Review shop drawings and assist with general construction services.
