Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Raleigh, NC. You will join a team of engineers on public, federal and industrial projects, contributing to electrical system design, calculations, and distribution planning.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with master planning, design reviews and site support across multiple project types. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a related engineering degree and eager to learn in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology or related discipline with an interest in power systems and/or electrical distribution.

Responsibilities

• Developing drawings for electrical systems (power, controls, communications, fire alarm, and security) using CADD.
• Performing electrical calculations using systems analyses software (lighting, load, voltage drop, etc.).
• Assisting in the development of electrical distribution design plans and single line diagrams.
• Reviewing shop drawings and assist with general construction services.
