Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Electrical Engineer 1 to join our Phoenix office for an early career opportunity. You will support planning, design, and delivery of infrastructure and facility electrical systems, under supervision, on meaningful projects.

You will help develop designs, perform electrical calculations, and review compliance with regulations while collaborating with engineers and other disciplines to ensure quality and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• 0 years of experience; domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Create basic electrical master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models for facilities and renewable energy projects.
• Perform studies and calculations for power systems, lighting, fire alarm, security, and related disciplines.
• Review designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and update requirements as needed.
• Assist with selecting electrical components (motor control centers, switchgears, transformers).
• Contribute to technical papers and design documentation for publications or conferences.
• Collaborate with teams to prepare posters or presentation materials when needed.
