IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in St. Louis, MO. Over 10-12 weeks, you’ll assist experienced engineers and consultants with engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings while gaining hands-on exposure to real project work. In this role, you’ll support project documentation, coordination, and job site observations while working within project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You’ll contribute to healthcare-focused building projects alongside a team with strong full-scope MEP experience, advancing high-performance, and energy-efficient design.

Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards
Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment
Assist with good client relations, project design notebook, and documentation for permanent record files
Assist with coordinating design and schedule with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers
Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and instructions from client while monitoring project design progress
Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check
Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information
Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement
Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
Strong interest in design consulting
Previous exposure to CAD and/or BIM software
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
A paid internship with real, hands-on project work, not busywork
A structured program with an assigned mentor and a cohort of fellow interns
