Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to work with a team on public, federal, and industrial projects. You will contribute to electrical system master planning, design, and analysis under supervision, gaining exposure to real-world power distribution challenges.

The role involves drafting electrical drawings, performing calculations, and assisting in the preparation of distribution plans while supporting project teams across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Interest in power systems and/or electrical distribution.

Responsibilities

• Developing drawings for electrical systems (power, controls, communications, fire alarm, and security) using CADD.
• Performing electrical calculations using systems analyses software (lighting, load, voltage drop, etc.).
• Assisting in the development of electrical distribution design plans and single line diagrams.
• Reviewing shop drawings and assisting with general construction services.
