Job summary

CDM Smith's Raleigh office is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You will work with a team of engineers on a diverse portfolio of public, federal, and industrial projects, developing electrical system drawings and performing calculations using design software.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Electrical or Electronic Engineering with interest in power systems and electrical distribution.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related discipline with an interest in power systems and/or electrical distribution.

Responsibilities

• Developing drawings for electrical systems (power, controls, communications, fire alarm, and security) using CADD.
• Performing electrical calculations using systems analyses software (lighting, load, voltage drop, etc.).
• Assisting in the development of electrical distribution design plans and single line diagrams.
• Reviewing shop drawings and assisting with general construction services.
