Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our Dallas office for Summer 2027. You will work with a team of engineers on a diverse portfolio of public, federal, and industrial projects, gaining exposure to electrical system design and sustainability initiatives.

The role involves developing electrical drawings, performing calculations, and assisting with distribution design and shop drawing reviews, with a 10% travel expectation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Interest in power systems and/or electrical distribution.

Responsibilities

• Developing drawings for electrical systems (power, controls, communications, fire alarm, and security) using CADD.
• Performing electrical calculations using systems analyses software (lighting, load, voltage drop, etc.).
• Assisting in the development of electrical distribution design plans and single line diagrams.
• Reviewing shop drawings and assist with general construction services.
