Job summary

STV Incorporated in Boston, MA is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to work with our team on meaningful projects. This hybrid role requires at least 3 days in the office weekly and offers mentorship and hands-on experience for undergraduate and graduate candidates.

You will assist with electrical design, CAD tasks, power systems, and construction documentation across multiple project phases, gaining exposure to industry-leading software and collaboration with railway and utility partners.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at ABET-accredited university.
• Experience in architecture/engineering/construction management industry.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation CAD software (intermediate).

Responsibilities

• Support building and facility electrical design under mentorship.
• Perform field surveys, calculations and CAD tasks.
• Prepare power systems diagrams, wiring drawings and equipment layouts.
• Design grounding, lighting and power distribution systems.
• Assist in preparing proposals and change orders.
• Interface with railway clients and utility representatives.
• Develop schematic designs into construction documents.
• Provide designs and calculations for power, lighting and fire alarm systems.
• Participate in all project phases from planning through close-out.
• Use AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation to assemble contract documents.
• Run electrical calculations with specialized software.
• Develop designs using Revit/AutoCAD for power, lighting and fire alarm systems.
