Job summary

Southworth International Group seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Falmouth, ME. You’ll gain hands-on experience with SolidWorks, PDM workflows, and engineering drawing standards while supporting design projects.

You’ll work with experienced engineers, tackle CAD modeling, and learn design calculations, data analysis, and project management techniques. Opportunities to earn CSWA/CSWP via SIGI.

Qualifications

• Majoring in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or an equivalent engineering degree.
• Completed a minimum of two years of engineering curriculum with core courses, GPA around 3.0 preferred.
• Experience with SolidWorks or a comparable 3D CAD program and familiarity with CAD vaults and revision control.
• Windows 11 and Microsoft Office skills required, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Engage in design and process improvement projects over the summer.
• Utilize CAD modeling, drafting, design calculations, data analysis, and communication techniques.
• Assist in expanding SIGI’s CAD vault and support detailing for engineers and changes from manufacturing.
• Work closely with senior engineers and report to the Intern Supervisor for guidance and development.
• Present projects to engineering and executive teams at the end of the summer.
