IMEG in Anaheim, CA is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 program. Over 10-12 weeks, you will assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings, working alongside experienced engineers on active project work.

This paid, mentored internship provides hands-on exposure to design, coordination, documentation, and field observation. You will support project budgets and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet client goals

Qualifications

• Must be at least 2 years toward a BS in Electrical Engineering.
• Exposure to CAD/BIM software preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to communicate clearly, orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical system design portions for building projects.
• Support engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight.
• Research commercially available equipment and project resources.
• Maintain client relationships and project documentation.

IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in Anaheim, CA. Over 10-12 weeks, you’ll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings while working alongside experienced engineers and consultants on active project work.

This paid, mentored internship offers hands‑on exposure to design, coordination, documentation, and field observation. You’ll support work within project budgets, collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet client goals, and contribute to healthcare‑focused MEP projects advancing high‑performance, energy‑efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with design portions of projects related to electrical systems in buildings, according to code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight for assigned project work.
• Assist with researching commercially available equipment and project resources.
• Assist with maintaining client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files.
• Assist with coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers.
• Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check.
• Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.

What You’ll Bring

Required Education and Experience

• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required

Required Skills And Abilities

• Strong interest in design consulting
• Previous exposure to CAD and/or BIM software
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Preferred

• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

State of California Pay Range: $22.00 -$24.00 per hour

The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.

Individual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
