Job summary

Danfoss Power Solutions in Plymouth, MN, is seeking a part-time Electrical Engineering Intern for the 2026-2027 school year. This onsite role offers hands-on experience working with electrical design, testing, and documentation while balancing coursework.

Ideal candidates are EE students with junior status or higher, familiar with schematics and lab equipment. Compensation is $20–$25 per hour, ~20 hours weekly, with opportunities for mentorship and growth within a global energy leader.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering program, with Junior status or higher.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
• Knowledge of test equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes, data acquisition hardware, inspection equipment, signal generators, power supplies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and strong technical writing ability.

Responsibilities

• Applies advanced engineering skills to electrical design, analysis and problem solving.
• Conduct product functional testing and product analysis as needed.
• Perform qualification testing of the finished product, including EMC/ESD/an electrical transient and HALT testing.
• Create engineering documentation and schematics layouts when opportunities arise.
• Create PCB layouts with understanding of traces, vias, planes, layers and component placement.
• No business travel anticipated.

Looking for a great opportunity to gain experience with a Global Sustainable Energy company? Our Danfoss Power Solutions site in Plymouth is seeking a part-time (~20 hours per week) Electrical Engineering Intern for the 2026-2027 school year.

This is an onsite position that pays $20-$25/per hour.

What You’ll Be Doing

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

• Applies advanced engineering skills regarding electrical design, analysis and problem solving.
• Conduct product functional testing and product analysis as needed.
• Perform qualification testing of the finished product - including EMC, ESD, electrical transient and HALT testing.
• Create engineering documentation.
• When opportunities come up, perform schematic design using engineering principles and advanced math concepts.
• When opportunities come up, create PCB layouts with a complete understanding of the impact of traces, vias, planes layers and component placement.
• No business travel anticipated.

What We're Looking For

• Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering Program, with Junior status or higher
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
