Job summary

The Director of Electrical Engineering at SCEG, a GF company, leads electrical design across hospitality, multifamily, and commercial projects with offices on the West Coast. You will drive technical quality, client satisfaction, and project profitability while mentoring staff and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

You will oversee budgets, schedules, and compliance with codes and standards, while supporting business development and client relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (ABET preferred).
• Active California PE license required.
• Minimum 15 years of experience designing electrical systems for diverse building types.
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineering projects, teams, and client relationships.
• Experience mentoring staff and contributing to business development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and coordination from concept through construction administration.
• Oversee multiple projects and client relationships with quality and timeliness.
• Manage schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and authorities.
• Mentor junior engineers and enforce QA/QC across deliverables.
• Support proposals, scopes, and fee estimates; contribute to business development.
• Ensure compliance with codes, energy standards, and best practices.
