Job summary

Power Design, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technical Director to lead technical direction across nationwide, large-scale projects including data centers and healthcare facilities.

You will mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and guide design from concept through construction, interfacing with executives and clients to deliver top-tier electrical solutions. This role demands 12+ years of experience, PE licensure, and strong knowledge of NEC/IBC/IECC/NFPA.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience on large-scale projects.
• Deep knowledge of electrical distribution, backup power, load analysis, and coordination.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC, IBC, IECC, NFPA and life safety codes.
• Experience as a senior technical lead or subject matter expert.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for electrical design on data centers, healthcare facilities, stadiums, and other large, complex projects.
• Provide expert guidance during pursuit, preconstruction, design development, permitting, and construction phases.
• Establish, refine, and uphold electrical engineering standards and best practices.
• Lead technical decision-making for power distribution, emergency systems, grounding, coordination studies, and life safety.
• Review and validate engineering documents for accuracy, constructability, and code compliance.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution on complex challenges.
• Partner with executives and clients to support technical strategy and solution development.
• Identify innovative approaches to improve efficiency, coordination, and system performance.
